Sports AT of NY, P.C. has teamed up with Absolut Care Facilities Management LLC to teach children that healthy life choices can be fun. We have developed a summer day camp that will guarantee that children who join will be active, get fresh air, make new friends, learn about healthy food choices and most importantly have fun!
The camp will be run by two New York State Licensed Certified Athletic Trainers, Bambi Horton, ATC – Area Sports Medicine Coordinator and ATC for the Nichols School; and Collene Coniglio, ATC – ATC for Tonawanda High School and Middle School. Both ATC’s are employed by Sports AT of NY, P.C which is the sister company of Sports Physical Therapy of NY, P.C. Both councilors are CPR and AED certified.
The camp will be held at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst, NY 14226. W.E. F.I.T. camp is for boys and girls ages 7-12 and will run every Tuesday and Thursday beginning Tuesday, July 6th through Thursday, August 12th.
Every Tuesday from 10:00am-1:00pn a Registered Dietitian from Absolut Care Facilities Management will be working with the children in a creative and interactive format to educate them on healthy food choices. Parents will be encouraged to reach out to the Dietitians with any questions and concerns.
The camp includes organized physical activities, mid-morning and afternoon snacks (children must bring a lunch). Each camper will receive a W.E. FIT t-shirt and a water bottle. Children will be rewarded every day for good behavior and eligible to earn WE Bucks (play money) at the last day of camp to shop at our WE FIT store filled with active lifestyle merchandise.
Children can sign up for individual weeks at a rate of $80.00 per week. Although, for best fitness results it is recommended children attend all 12 classes. The six week camp rate is $350.00 (a $130.00 savings). To register for the camp and for more information please call 862-0567.
