Hugs From Home

Press Release
06/14/2010

East Aurora, NY – In celebration of the upcoming Independence Day holiday, Absolute Care of Aurora Park is initiating “Hugs from Home” a care package drive for local troops serving our country overseas.

Beginning now through July 20th the community is invited to join the efforts of Absolut Care in recognizing the courageous sacrifice our military men and women make by purchasing items to care and comfort them while away from their homes and families fighting for our freedom.

Items such as travel size toiletries, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, playing cards, crossword puzzles, candy and other snacks can be dropped off to Absolut Care of Aurora Park, 292 Main Street, East Aurora on or before July 20th. Those that prefer to make a cash donation are also able to do so as those funds will be put toward the cost of postage.

The “Hugs from Home” care packages will be sent to the New York National Guard Troop 827 Engineers from Buffalo, New York. The troops are on a one year tour and have been stationed in Afghanistan since April.

Those interested are encouraged to call Jill Dehlinger at 652-1560 or email jdehlinger@absolutcare.com for more information.
