![]() ![]() After patients have been discharged from a hospital, they sometimes require additional skilled nursing or rehabilitation services to prepare them for their return home. Our subacute and rehabilitation care program includes medical monitoring by a physician and staff of licensed nurses. In addition, specialized therapy programs are individually designed for each residents needs. These programs help the resident regain as much strength and functional capacity as possible. Physical Therapy - Physical therapy helps strengthen the body, decrease pain, and speed healing after an injury or illness. Physical therapists evaluate a patient's muscle strength, range of motion, balance and coordination to develop treatments to restore routine movements. These treatments often include activities and exercises to maintain mobility, strength and endurance, as well as to help reduce the risk of diseases such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and osteoporosis. Speech Therapy - Speech Therapy concentrates on restoring as much of an individual's original ability to communicate and process information as soon as possible following a debilitating accident or illness. The speech therapist develops a plan to treat communication problems and the physical problems that can effect swallowing, as well as speaking. Occupational Therapy - Restoring independence is the ultimate goal of occupational therapy. Occupational therapists focus on helping patients' re-learn day-to-day activities such as dressing, bathing, and eating. Using exercises to improve strength, endurance, range of motion and coordination, therapists will teach patients how to maximize the abilities they have so that they may live as independently as possible. |
